VantageOne Invests $30,000 in Local Communities Through Good Neighbour Community Support Program
Vernon, BC — VantageOne Credit Union is proud to announce the first recipients of its new Good Neighbour Community Support Program, awarding $30,000 to five local organizations making a meaningful difference in the lives of people across the North Okanagan.
The inaugural program received 31 applications, highlighting the incredible work being done throughout the region and the growing need for community support.
“At VantageOne, we believe strong communities are built by neighbours supporting neighbours,” said Glenn Benischek, CEO of VantageOne Credit Union. “The response to our inaugural Good Neighbour Community Support Program highlighted both the incredible work being done across our region and the growing need for support. While we couldn’t fund every project, we’re proud to invest in initiatives that improve the well-being of local residents and help build stronger communities for all of us.”
The 2026 recipients are:
- Archway Society for Domestic Peace — $7,500 to support a homelessness prevention program helping women who have experienced violence, access safe, stable housing.
- North Okanagan Friendship Centre — $7,500 to support Indigenous Pregnancy Outreach Services.
- North Okanagan Optimist Club — $5,000 for the Unplug and Play Project, encouraging families to spend more time together away from screens.
- Okanagan Quality Life Society – Heaven Can Wait Program — $5,000 to provide therapeutic cruises on Okanagan Lake for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
- NexusBC Community Resource Centre — $5,000 to provide Good Food Boxes for seniors living on low fixed incomes.
Applications were reviewed through a formal evaluation process by a committee made up of VantageOne leadership and Board representatives.
